Customtronix converts the RB5/RB6/8.4N uConnect (and the Chinese or Japanese RE9 version). The maps can after conversion only be updated by us. On most cars (not all) radio frequencies/steps and DVD region can be set in the car configuration by a garage with a StarScan tool/Witech. We are able to set the DVD-region to Region 2 manually if needed at additional cost. Please add this to your order before checkout.
The conversion must be made by our staff, send the head-unit to us. We need the head unit / CD-player only. We do not need the monitor. The metal box with the black plastic detail on the front is what we need (see photo). Disassembly manual is available on our website.
Language support depends on the origin of your system:
The Middle East version supports English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and German.
The North American versions supports English, Spanish and French.
The Chinese version (RE9) supports English and Chinese, but can be forced to display French, German, Italian, or Dutch. PLEASE INFORM US WHICH LANGUAGE YOU WANT WHEN PLACING YOUR ORDER!!The Japanese version (RE9) supports English and Japanese, but can be forced to display French, German, Italian, or Dutch. PLEASE INFORM US WHICH LANGUAGE YOU WANT WHEN PLACING YOUR ORDER!!
- Note that for 2015-2019 cars this type of nav-radio is mostly found in Dodge Journey. Strongly recommend that you consult our tech if you have a car made after 2014 and are unsure of what system you have.
Chinese and Japanese versions of Uconnect RB5/RB6 do NOT support language change! If we deliver it to you in any other language than English, then don’t touch the language menu! If you change the language from your local language to English, then your local language setting will be lost forever!
IF you have a Chinese RB5/6 make sure to contact our tech before ordering. There is a issue with the BCM that costs extra.
PLEASE READ THIS:
- Put a CD in the DVD player (before removing the navigation system). It helps to stabilize the DVD mechanism and prevent damages.
